Dale Bjorling, professor and chair of the Department of Surgical Sciences, has been elected as the next president of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Sara Colopy, a veterinary surgeon in the School of Veterinary Medicine, has been selected to serve on the American College of Veterinary Surgeons Foundation Board of Trustees.

Ian Duncan, Department of Neurology, was one of seven individuals named as a 2009 Fellow of the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters.

Dale Norris, emeritus professor in entomology, forest ecology and the interdisciplinary graduate neuroscience training program, is one of the 10 biological scientists in the world invited to the Seventh Okazaki Biological Conference.

Scott Seyforth, the university’s residence life administrator, was awarded the Annabelle E. Wolf Award for Outstanding Service in College Student Personnel by the Wisconsin College Personnel Association.

Three certified veterinary technicians at the School of Veterinary Medicine recently attained specialty certification in anesthesia: Kate Lafferty, Jessica Wendt and Denise Young.
