Appointed

Aaron Bird Bear has been named interim associate director of Pathways to Excellence.

Pam Garcia-Rivera has been named internship coordinator in the College of Letters and Sciences’ Career Services Office.

Ken Javajecz has been named associate dean of the full-time Wisconsin MBA and the specialized master’s programs in the School of Business.

Elaine Klein has been named assistant dean and director of academic planning program review and assessment.

José Madera has been named assistant dean and director of the Acacemic Advancement Program.

Lucy Mathiak has been named assistant dean and director of communications and college relations in the College of Letters and Science.

Bob Palcic has been named assistant coach of the football team. Palcic will be an offensive line coach.

G. Kevin Spellman has been named director of the Hawk Center for Applied Security Analysis in the School of Business.

Awards

Nader Sheibani, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, was awarded a three-year grant from the American Diabetes Association.

The University of Wisconsin West Madison Agricultural Research Station, an All-America Selections Display Garden since 1978, has been named the Category I Exemplary Education Award winner by the AAS board.
