Memorial Union plans third annual TerraceFest

May 2, 2006

The Memorial Union will begin its summer music series with the third annual TerraceFest, to be held from noon-midnight on Saturday, June 10.

TerraceFest, the annual kick-off to the summer music series on the Memorial Union Terrace, will offer various activities, music and events for the whole family. Afternoon highlights include Wisconsin Dells Duck rides ($1 per person), free Hoofer sailboat rides and canoe rentals, Boulder’s climbing wall, a bouncy castle, pottery and other crafts from the Union Craftshop, temporary tattoos, Bucky Badger, Chris Kammer’s “Get Out the Brush” extravaganza, a Kicks Unlimited kid karate exhibition and Bassam Shakhashiri’s “Science is Fun” demonstration.

Evening entertainment begins with sing-offs to see who will become the “Terrace Idol” and win a slot later in the summer to sing on the Terrace. The headliner is Locos por Juana, with an opener to be named. The activities are free (except for the Duck rides) and open to the public.
