Magazine nominates three for ‘Educator of the Year’

A national magazine of arts lifestyles has nominated three professors to receive the first-ever Arts Educator of the Year Award. In all, the magazine is selecting from 173 candidates for the award.

The UW–Madison nominees are:

• Bruce Breckenridge, professor emeritus of art, specializing in ceramics;
• Steve Feren, professor of art who specializes in glass and neon; and
• Lisa Gralnick, associate professor of art, metalsmithing and jewelry.

Two winners will be announced on Sunday, Feb. 19.

The award is intended to recognize professors who demonstrate an unwavering dedication to promoting the arts through support of emerging craft artists.
