Knickmeyer steps up

February 26, 2002

Jim Knickmeyer has stepped into a new role as the associate dean of administration for the Graduate School, helping to fill the void that Mareda Weiss left after she decided to retire after 38 years at UW–Madison.

Knickmeyer is no stranger to the Graduate School, having spent the last 18 years as assistant dean of administration.

Knickmeyer is responsible for advising the Graduate School dean on all fiscal and administrative issues, directing the overall budget planning and development, and providing ongoing budget management.

He also will serve as liaison with Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, as well as many other vital functions of the Graduate School. “I am honored and a little overwhelmed, but am looking forward to working with the campus community,” Knickmeyer says.
