Kinesiology Club plans 10th annual poker run/walk

April 19, 2006

Continuing its tradition of making exercise fun and accessible for everyone, the Kinesiology Club has organized the 10th Annual 5k Poker Run/Walk co-sponsored by University Health Services (UHS).

The event, which will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, is open to the public. People of all ability levels and ages are encouraged to join in.

Each participant draws three cards when they register, then draw the two final cards of their poker hand when they cross the finish line. The grand prize goes to the participant with the highest poker hand, not the fastest time.

Registration starts at 4:30 p.m. at the Natatorium. The entry fee is $10, with proceeds benefiting Special Olympics and the Kinesiology Club of UW–Madison. The entry fee includes a T-shirt, food, beverages and a DJ. The event will take place rain or shine.
