Ingraham Deli Caters to Bascom Hill Appetites

August 27, 1997

The world of retail food on Bascom Hill will be changed forever in early September, when the Ingraham Deli opens its doors as a Wisconsin Union-run facility.

The deli, on the first floor of Ingraham Hall (formerly Commerce), will seat 42 and serve lots more from 7 a.m to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. The range of choices is wide: hot and cold beverages, including expressos and lattes; hot entrees that include lasagna and veggie offerings such as black beans and rice; bakery items; and cold sandwiches, salads and desserts.

A grand opening will be held for the Ingraham Deli on Wednesday, Sept. 24, with prizes given away every 15 minutes and free food samples. In addition, all Wisconsin Union delis will run specials that week.

“We think the Ingraham Deli will be a comfortable and relaxing place, as well as convenient for faculty, staff and students in the area,” said Peter Behrendt, manager of the Wisconsin Union’s deli division.
