Filmmaker Lynch To ‘Talkback’ on Campus

December 5, 1997

Okay, David Lynch, just what exactly did you intend the ubiquitous pie to mean in your television series “Twin Peaks?”

You can ask Lynch himself at a special screening of Lynch’s new video, “The Cowboy and the Frenchman” scheduled for Dec. 17. A talkback with the director will follow.

Lynch will appear under the auspices of Tandem Press, UW–Madison’s fine arts press.

Lynch’s first feature film, “Eraserhead,” still is considered a cult classic almost 20 years after its initial release. Other titles in Lynch’s canon include “The Elephant Man” (nominated for eight Academy Awards), “Dune,” “Blue Velvet,” “Wild at Heart” and “Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me,” a cinematic prequel to his TV series. His most recent directorial endeavor, “Lost Highway,” was released in February.

Tickets for the events are sold out.
