Executive Education competition announced

May 10, 2006

The Professional Development and Recognition Committee (PDRC) of the Academic Staff Assembly has announced the 2006 Competition for Executive Education Courses.

The Executive Education program in the School of Business will offer five single-course enrollments as a contribution to academic staff professional development. Any member of the campus academic staff is eligible to apply. Successful applicants will benefit from single-course registration fees reduced from the typical $465 per day to $50 per day. Departments may have discretionary funds available to support this administrative fee.

Selection criteria will be based on improved effectiveness in a candidate’s present position. The main objectives are individual professional development, improved program quality and improved institutional effectiveness.

Individual courses may be selected from many of program’s 300 courses. A copy of the course catalog is available on request by phoning 441-7357 or 1-800-292-8964 or faxing 441-7325. The catalog is also available as a PDF document at http://uwexeced.com/download/ by clicking on “2006 Executive Education Catalog.”

For the latest dates and fees, visit http://uwexeced.com/download/ and select “Programs” from the menu on that page. Click on an area of interest and select “Dates & Fees” for that topic. Online information supersedes catalog dates and fees.

Applications must include a letter of purpose, identifying the course and how it will enhance your professional development, and one or two letters of support from your supervisor or a colleague.

Send five copies of materials to the Office of the Secretary of the Academic Staff, 270 Bascom Hall, by May 22. For more information, contact PDRC co-chair Lisa Jansen at 262-1126 or eajansen@wisc.edu.
