Event organizers welcome campus participation

January 17, 2007

Organizers of Science Expeditions and the Undergraduate Symposium are seeking campus participation for this semester’s events.

Faculty, staff and students in the sciences and engineering are invited to share their science knowledge with the public by offering an “Exploration Station” at the fifth annual Science Expeditions, scheduled for Saturday, March 24, at the Engineering Centers Building.

The Science Alliance provides $200 to support the displays. Last year, 1,800 visitors experienced science by exploring the unknown at 40 stations.

For more information on participating, contact Tom Zinnen at 265-2420.

Faculty and staff are reminded to encourage their students to submit proposals for the annual Undergraduate Symposium to be held Thursday, April 12. The symposium includes presentations, poster displays and performances representing the arts and humanities, and the biological, physical and social sciences. The symposium celebrates the achievements, creativity and service learning of undergraduate students.

Students may present work they did at any time during the academic year, including in fall courses.

Details on submitting a proposal may be found at Undergraduate Symposium 2007. The deadline for submitting proposals is Monday, Feb. 26.
