November 26, 2002

What does the realistic future of eBusiness hold for industry? How will the next generation of eSecurity audit tools detect and fix network vulnerabilities? What are the best eBusiness practices Grainger.com uses to sell products every institution needs to keep its facilities running?

Business leaders are invited to attend the 5th Annual Symposium on eBusiness Trends and Emerging Technologies Thursday, Dec. 12, from 9:30 to 3:30 at the Fluno Center for Executive Education. The UW Consortium for Global eCommerce (CGEC) is the event sponsor. The fee for non-CGEC members is $155 for registration by Dec. 3 and $195 thereafter. Fees include symposium materials, networking luncheon, and refreshment breaks. The symposium is free to CGEC members.

“The combination of industry experts and UW faculty makes this event a unique learning experience,” says Dr. Raj Veeramani, UW CGEC director. “And it’s a great way to network with peers and discuss common challenges, ideas and eBusiness best practices.”

Carl Howe, CEO of Blackfriar’s Inc. is the keynote speaker. Howe was named one of the “Top 20 Most Influential Industry Analysts” by Technology Marketing magazine based upon his work as a former principal analyst at Forrester Research. He has commented on technology for media ranging from The Wall Street Journal to the CBS Evening News.

The annual symposium is a premier event for business leaders to learn about key trends and emerging technologies in eBusiness and eCommerce. Last year, more than 100 executives in charge of eBusiness, eCommerce, IT initiatives and UW faculty attended the event.
