Employee Appreciation Ice Cream Social set for May 8 on Bascom Hill

April 23, 2008

Be sure to block off some time on your calendar for the sixth annual Employee Appreciation Ice Cream Social on Thursday, May 8. Several flavors of Babcock Hall ice cream and frozen yogurt will be served from 1–2:30 p.m. under a tent on Bascom Hill, rain or shine.

“We are carrying on the great tradition of the ice cream social to recognize and honor all of our campus employees,” says Darrell Bazzell, vice chancellor for administration.

Among the many volunteer “celebrity” scoopers will be Bazzell, Provost Patrick Farrell and Dean of Students Lori Berquam. Along with several other campus administrators, deans and directors, they will serve the free well-deserved treats in cones or dishes — whichever you prefer.

Bucky Badger will again be there to congratulate and thank employees for all the great work they’ve done throughout the past year. Although Bucky can’t talk, he can certainly show his appreciation in other ways. Bring your camera and get a photo with him.

If you don’t work in the vicinity of Bascom Hill, you can hop on the free Route 80 or 85 bus for a quick trip to the top of the hill and back to your workplace.

The event is co-sponsored and organized by the vice chancellor’s office and the Office of Human Resource Development.
