Employee Appreciation Ice Cream Social set for May 15

April 21, 2017

A letter from Chancellor Rebecca Blank to members of the UW–Madison campus community:

As we head into this spring season and wind up the semester, I’d like to invite all faculty and staff to gather on Bascom Hill, celebrate the close of another academic year, and sample a little bit of summer.

The annual Employee Appreciation Ice Cream Social is set for Monday, May 15, beginning at 1 p.m. on Bascom Hill. We’ll serve free ice cream until 2:30 p.m., or until we run out, whichever comes first.

All your favorite ice cream flavors will be on hand, including vanilla, chocolate, Badger Blast, chocolate peanut butter and orange custard chocolate chip, to name a few. This year’s featured flavor is “Cherrity,” the flavor that was designed especially for the 2017 Partners In Giving Campaign. Also for the first time this year we will have a lactose-free vanilla ice cream. Other dietary alternatives will also be available upon request.

Administrators, deans and directors will be scooping as a gesture of thanks for your hard work and dedication this academic year. Plus, we’ll be joined by members of the marching band.

Work units are encouraged to be flexible with employees to allow them to come to Bascom Hill, or are encouraged to host celebrations in their own locations especially for those units located off campus. In the event of rain on May 15, we will gather in the Birge Hall lobby.

Sincerely,

Chancellor Rebecca Blank
