Countdown to commencement begins April 2

April 1, 2002 By Cheryl Porior-Mayhew

May graduates can prepare for commencement and life in the “real world” by attending the Countdown to Commencement.

This one-stop-shop approach to commencement will be held Tuesday, April 2, at Tripp Commons, Memorial Union, and Wednesday, April 3, in Union South. The Wisconsin Alumni Association will host both events, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Countdown to Commencement enables May graduates to reserve commencement attire, order class rings and announcements, check graduation status, confirm mailing addresses for diplomas and learn about commencement activities for individual schools and colleges. WAA staff will be on hand to explain the benefits of joining the alumni association, including access to short-term insurance, a free e-mail account and valuable career resources.

Spring grads may also order yearbooks, have graduation photos taken, receive information about lifetime Wisconsin Union memberships and ask last-minute questions about their eligibility to graduate. Countdown to Commencement staff can handle walk-in traffic throughout the day, so no appointment is necessary.
