November 9, 2010 By John Lucas

The annual First-Year Conference is designed to provide UW–Madison faculty, graduate students, and academic staff an opportunity to think and learn about first-year students and their academic success.

The 2010 event will be held from 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 12, at the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon St. This year’s theme is “Creating an Impact” with the keynote address coming from Constance Staley, professor of communication, University of Colorado – Colorado Springs.

The conference is an opportunity for faculty, staff, and graduate students to discuss innovative research and practice regarding transitioning students on campus (freshmen and transfer students).  Conference presentations address a variety of topics on curricular and co-curricular student experiences.

There is no registration cost for campus faculty, staff, and graduate students. Non UW–Madison faculty, staff, and graduate students must pay a $40 fee. For more info or to register, visit here.
