Campus Energy Reduction Plan To Be Discussed

May 30, 1997

With the possibility of an energy shortage this summer, Physical Plant will present its proposed Incremental Energy Reduction Plan at a meeting for campus building managers and other interested members of the campus community Tuesday, June 3, at 8:30 a.m.

The two-hour meeting in Union South will cover details of a proposed plan that aims to reduce the electric consumption of the campus while protecting the human health, critical research and instructional programs of the university.

Building managers from all facilities will be attending the meeting and have been asked to develop plans for communicating to building occupants any energy reduction measures that might be put in effect during the summer.

Also to be covered are voluntary actions faculty and staff can take to help cut down on energy consumption.

All members of the campus community are invited to attend. A question and answer period will follow the presentation.
