Campaign pledges reach 87% of goal

January 14, 2003

With contributions still coming in, pledges for the annual Partners in Giving campaign topped $2.53 million as of Jan. 13 — about 87 percent of the goal.

Pledges from university employees were down about 3 percent compared to a year earlier, at just under $1.12 million, while UW Hospital & Clinics employee pledges climbed nearly 25 percent, to $111,000.

Contributions from state-agency employees, about $1.3 million, were down about 7 percent. Overall, campaign donations were running about 4 percent behind those of the previous year’s campaign.

“Again, we’d like to remind employees who have not contributed that they can still submit pledges to their Partners in Giving coordinators,” says Tom Sinclair, chair of the campaign’s marketing committee. “Quite a few people do this every year in January and February, even later. We welcome that. Every contribution helps.”

Campaign organizers won’t have final totals until March, Sinclair says. For updates: http://www.wisc.edu/secc.
