Arts Institute announces faculty, staff, student honors

Arts Institute executive director Norma Saldivar announces the recipients of the 2009 awards in the arts. They are:

• Arts Institute Creative Arts Award: Jin-Wen Yu, Dance Program
• Emily Mead Baldwin Award in the Creative Arts I: Stephen Hilyard, Department of Art
• Emily Mead Baldwin Award in the Creative Arts II: Douglas Rosenberg, Department of Art
• Joyce J. and Gerald A. Bartell Award in the Arts: Patrick Sims, Department of Theatre and Drama
• David and Edith Sinaiko Frank Graduate Fellowship for a Woman in the Arts I: Heather Macali, Design Studies Department
• David and Edith Sinaiko Frank Graduate Fellowship for a Woman in the Arts II: Naomi Schliesman, Department of Art
• Lyman S.V. Judson and Ellen Mackechnie Judson Student Award in the Creative Arts, Graduate Student: Pete Rydberg, Department of Theatre and Drama
• Lyman S.V. Judson and Ellen Mackechnie Judson Student Award in the Creative Arts, Undergraduate Student: Kitty Huffman, Department of Art

These recipients and arts colleagues who are recipients of Vilas, Kellett Mid-Career, Distinguished Teaching and Hirsch Family awards will be honored at a program at Lathop Hall at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 17.
