Artist asks, ‘Wildflowers or Weed?’ in Arboretum exhibition

October 3, 2006

Watercolor artist Lynne Railsback began her career in commercial interior design. “With my background in graphics, I was able to provide my clients with services such as wall murals, designs for construction barricades, signage, company logos, business cards and promotional literature,” she says.

She retired from the business world nine years ago to concentrate on becoming a serious artist. “The flowing lines in nature became my inspiration,” she says. “It is particularly rewarding when my work is appreciated for clean design devoid of esoteric meaning.”

Some of Railsback’s meticulously detailed botanical drawings featuring a variety of native plants are on exhibit through Monday, Oct. 30, in the Steinhauer Trust Gallery in the Arboretum Visitor Center, 1207 Seminole Highway. The exhibition is free and all are welcome. For more information, call 263-7888.
