Another first-place finish for UW couple on “The Amazing Race”

February 28, 2012 By Käri Knutson

For the second week in a row, Major Dave Brown, Jr. and his wife, Rachel, placed first on “The Amazing Race.”

Dave, an assistant professor of military science at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and Rachel, a UW human ecology graduate, earned a trip to Grenada for their first-place finish.

Last week, the Browns came out on top after challenges involving sky diving and empanada making. This week, the nine teams found themselves at a Buenos Aires cattle auction and building a solar-powered stove for a local village.

The Emmy-winning reality show premiered Feb. 19 with more than 10 million viewers. It can be seen at 7 p.m. Sundays on CBS.
