Two new Web sites are up and running:

  • The Graduate School has redesigned its site to offer user-friendly information about graduate education and research administration: http://www.grad.wisc.edu.
  • Stories of people dominate a site recording the history of the School of Human Ecology, which marks its centennial in September. The site details the school’s beginnings in the Progressive movement, student experiences in different decades and the leaders who shaped the school’s interdisciplinary approach to the Wisconsin Idea. The site makes the school’s history approachable and understandable. “One of the problems with social history is that there is so much material. It doesn’t tell a story until you put it together,” says Professor Rima Apple, who developed the site with help from graduate student Joyce Coleman. See: http://www.sohe.wisc.edu/depts/history.
