Q: What performances or art exhibitions are going on during TRANS: A Visual Culture Conference?

A: TRANS: A Visual Culture Conference is an international convention focused on furthering the definition of the emerging interdisciplinary field of visual studies. It will feature a performance by artist Tim Miller, as well as an exhibition, “Visualizing TRANS,” highlighting more than 40 local, national and international artists. The TRANS conference will be held Thursday, Oct. 19-Sunday, Oct. 22, and is free to faculty and students. To learn more about the conference, see Page 9.

Q: When is the Library Mall fountain turned off and covered for the winter?

A: According to Facilities Planning and Management, the Library Mall fountain operates from approximately April 15–Oct. 15. These dates are flexible and are dependent upon the weather.

Get Thanksgiving to go from Wisconsin Union catering

Pre-cooked turkeys with all the trimmings may be ordered from the Wisconsin Union from Wednesday, Nov. 1–Friday, Nov. 17.

The menu includes Thanksgiving favorites that can be ordered a la carte (prices vary), as individual meals for $8.95 or as family meals for $99. The menu includes bourbon roast turkey, gingersnap mustard glazed ham, sage stuffing, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, homemade cranberry-orange relish, and fudge-bottom, pumpkin and pecan pies.

All orders must be placed by 5 p.m. on Nov. 17. Pickup will be from noon-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Tripp Commons in the Memorial Union. Call for golfers
