Admissions, McBurney complete office moves to 702 W. Johnson St.

The Office of Admissions and Recruitment and the McBurney Disability Resource Center have completed their moves into new space at 702 W. Johnson Street.

The offices are located near the northwest corner of Johnson and Lake streets across from Lot 46, Witte Hall, and Gordon Commons.

The new spaces, located closer to other student services offices in 333 East Campus Mall, are expected to draw in current and prospective students and make a positive impression on students and families.

McBurney completed its move over winter break, and admissions was in the process of completing its transition this week. Admissions will be open to the public, 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., in the new space beginning Monday, Jan. 24.

It’s important to note that all application materials sent via postal mail to the old Red Gym offices will be delivered to the new address.

To visit the new offices by car, there is parking in private, campus, and city ramps, as well as nearby on-street metered parking. Visitors are responsible for parking fees.

  • University Square Ramp: Self-service kiosk (enter on Lake Street). Standard, disabled and van-accessible stalls. Park in stalls located in the southeast corner of the ramp to reach the McBurney Center and admissions. Elevator access to 702 W. Johnson St. is available during business hours. Access to this lot is limited after hours (midnight to 6 a.m.).
  • UW Lot 46 Ramp: Metered standard and disabled stalls in the lower level of ramp. Van accessible stalls are located at the Frances Street entrance (valid DOT disabled permit required)
  • City of Madison State Street Campus Garage (Lake Street Ramp) Attendant or self service kiosk (two blocks north on Lake Street). Standard, disabled and van-accessible stalls are available.

To visit by Metro Bus:

  • The South Campus Circulator Bus 85 travels north on Lake and stops at the southeast corner of Lake and Johnson Streets.
  • Eastbound buses 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 27, 28, 37, 38, 47, 56, 57, 58, 70, 71, and 72 stop across the street on West Johnson Street in the southeast corner of Lake and West Johnson Street by Witte Hall.
  • Westbound riders of routes 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 19, 27, 28, 37, 38, 47, 56, 57, 58, 70, 71, and 72 can exit at the corner of University Avenue and Francis Street, which is one block east and one block north of McBurney.
  • There is a Madison Metro Paratransit stop on the west side of Lake Street (heading south from University Avenue to Johnson Street) immediately adjacent to the front doors of 702 W. Johnson St.
