Kinesiology sponsoring fall adapted fitness program

May 3, 2006

This fall the Department of Kinesiology will launch a new adapted fitness and personal training program and open gym at the Natatorium for all students, faculty and staff with disabilities.

This initiative, which will also be open to the Madison community, will be an opportunity for people to get advice, guidance, and hands-on assistance related to exercise and developing an exercise routine that meets individual needs. Access to this program will require a valid UW–Madison ID.

Tim Gattenby, a faculty associate in kinesiology, will coordinate the program and would like to have advance input from people on campus who have disabilities. In addition to determining campus interest, Gattenby says he would like to know what days and times would work best before scheduling the open gym time.

To provide feedback, contact Gattenby at 262‒9562 or gattenby@education.wisc.edu.
