Kat Trio to perform at Waisman Center benefit

You may recognize the Russian city of Ekaterinburg as the last stop for Czar Nicholas and his family before facing their executioners.

However, the renown of the Ekaterinburg Classical Trio, all graduates of the Ural Conservatory in Ekaterinburg, soon may eclipse the fame of that earlier event.

The Kat Trio will present classical and American standards in a benefit concert for the Waisman Center at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 21, in the center’s auditorium.

Am all-child cast will interpret “The Wizard of Oz” as part of the Waisman Center Children’s Theatre series. Playtime Productions will perform “www.Oz” at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23, in the center auditorium.
