Union Craftshop celebrates 75 years with exhibit

The Craftshop at Memorial Union has been providing as oasis of creativity since 1929. “Blowing the Dust Off Art” celebrates this significant anniversary with a display of historical and contemporary photos of students at work in the shop. The exhibition, in the Memorial Union Theater Gallery, also includes several works acquired for the Wisconsin Union’s permanent collection through shop craft shows and its Sidewalk Art Sales.

Upstairs in the Class of 1925 Gallery, a juried exhibition displays works representing many media. The idea, organizers say, is to showcase the gamut of skill levels and interests of Craftshop patrons.
