Office plans presentation on effects of child care

February 14, 2006

The Office of Campus Child Care and Family Resources will host a presentation on Tuesday, Feb. 28, about the effect of child care on children and whether it leads to aggressive behavior.

Dave Riley of the School of Human Ecology will discuss the issue from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Preschool Lab’s Mineral Point site, 3910 Mineral Point Road. Dinner and child care will be provided. However, space is limited to 20 parents.

The Office of Child Care and Family Resources promotes the development and implementation of coordinated child care and family support systems on campus. At present, the office coordinates eight early care and education centers that operate to serve campus faculty, staff and students.

Additionally, the office oversees parent support and education services, participates in fund-raising events and administers two financial assistance child care programs: the Child Care Tuition Assistance Program for student-parents and the Classified Staff Family Child Care Grant for permanent classified staff who work at UW–Madison.
