Executive MBA scholarship earmarked for UW System employee

March 6, 2003

Employees of the UW System are eligible to apply for a scholarship to the UW–Madison’s Executive MBA program. A special scholarship – made available by UW–Madison’s Business School Dean Michael M. Knetter – covers 75 percent of the $48,000 cost to attend the two-year program.

Scholarship applicants follow the standard admission process and must provide departmental approval for participating in the program. The reduced fees for the scholarship recipient are $6,000 per year for each of the two years. The recipient may be eligible for a student loan.

The Executive MBA program, which admits 30-35 students each fall, is a rigorous two-year program, designed for mid- and upper-level managers. Classes meet on Fridays and Saturdays every other weekend for two school years. Program fees cover all tuition, educational materials, group meals, parking, the live-in orientation week and an international study trip.

In October, 2002, the Financial Times of London ranked UW–Madison’s Executive MBA program one of the top 50 in the world. The program was ranked 33rd worldwide, 17th among all U.S. schools and 7th among U.S. public business schools.

The deadline for applications to the Executive MBA Program is June 1, 2003. For more information, contact Constance Rieben, associate director, at (608) 265-2034 or crieben@bus.wisc.edu.
