UW–Madison held its Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration Monday, a week after the official holiday, so more students returning from winter break could participate. Students and staff members took part in a direct service volunteer event at Reach-A-Child on Madison’s west side. The volunteers prepared backpacks that will be given to Wisconsin first responders by Reach-A-Child so they can be used to help comfort children in crisis.
