New leader named at Wisconsin Public Utility Institute

Susan E. Stratton has been appointed director of the Wisconsin Public Utility Institute at the School of Business.

She previously worked for the Wisconsin Public Service Commission for 12 years where she served as administrator of the Electric and Telecommunications Divisions and chief economist for the agency.

Prior to her work at the PSC, Stratton worked for National Economic Research Associates on electric and environmental issues and the Virginia State Corporation Commission in economic research involving energy and telecommunications.

Housed at the School of Business, the Wisconsin Public Utility Institute is designed to promote dialogue on public utility issues among industry players.

Activities include organizing seminars and forums, publishing research, providing opportunities for networking, and keeping members informed of industry trends and issues.

WPUI Board leadership also has changed. Phyllis Dube, manager of State Regulatory Advocacy for Wisconsin Electric Power Co., has been named chair of theWPUI Executive Board. Daniel Matson, director, Regulatory and Governmental Affairs, GTE North Inc., has been named vice chair.
