Observatory Drive detour this week

August 4, 1998

Beginning this morning (Tuesday, Aug. 4), there will be another temporary closing of Observatory Drive between Elm Drive and Linden Drive (near Willow Creek) in order for workers to complete a steam pipe replacement project begun in late June. The roadway is scheduled to re-open at approximately noon on Friday, Aug. 7, unless wet weather causes a delay in construction.

Motorists will need to take a short detour, which will be marked by arrow boards and signs. West-bound traffic will turn left onto Elm Drive, then right on Linden Drive past the School of Veterinary Medicine and back to Observatory Drive at Willow Creek. East-bound traffic will follow the same route from the other direction, turning right on to Linden Drive just past Willow Creek.

The bus stop in front of the Natatorium will be temporarily moved to Linden Drive near Willow Creek, and the stops on Observatory Drive just west of Elm Drive will be moved to Elm Drive just south of Observatory Drive.
