Free shuttle transportation for commencement ceremonies

May 11, 1998

Students, family members and friends attending any of the five commencement ceremonies this weekend are being encouraged to park in lots 17, 18 or 19 at Camp Randall and ride the convenient Madison Metro shuttle to and from the Kohl Center free of charge.

Buses will be running every 11 minutes from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 15, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17.

There will be three stops in the stadium area: in front of the Memorial Shell in Lot 18; at the entrance to the McClain Center in Lot 17; and in front of Engineering Hall on Engineering Drive. Passengers returning to Camp Randall will board the bus in front of the Kohl Center on West Dayton Street.

University parking lots in the vicinity of the Kohl Center will also be available to the public at no charge on a first come, first served basis, but are likely to fill up quickly. Because Friday’s ceremony begins in the midst of rush hour (at 5 p.m.), vehicle traffic in the campus area is expected to be greater than usual at that time.
