UW–Madison to host American Conference for Irish Studies

More than 350 scholars, artists and members of the public from across the globe will meet at UW–Madison for the American Conference for Irish Studies (ACIS) March 30-April 2.

This year’s meeting includes more than 100 lectures, panel sessions, roundtables, poetry readings and film screenings centered around the conference theme, “Global Networks and Local Ties.”

Keynote presenters for the conference include historian Kerby Miller, Curator’s Professor at the University of Missouri Columbia and literature scholar Julia M. Wright, Canada Research Chair in European Studies at Dalhousie University, among others. A concert featuring Liz Carroll and guitarist and singer Dáithi Sproule will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, at the Pyle Center and is open to the public for a nominal fee.
