TIP/Autism Day

January 27, 2011

The seventh annual “Autism: A Day with the Experts” program will be held Saturday, Jan. 29, at the Waisman Center on the UW–Madison campus. The program, which is free and open to the public, will run from 9 a.m.-1:45 p.m. in the Friends of the Waisman Center Auditorium at 1500 Highland Dr. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

Three UW–Madison autism researchers will present information about the latest advances in autism research at the Waisman Center, including trends in prevalence, early language development in children, and the transition from high school into adult life. The day will also feature a resource fair and a panel of experts, including an autistic individual and parents of autistic children.

The event is hosted by the Autism Society of Greater Madison and the UW–Madison Waisman Center.

Media are welcome to attend and cover the event. Parking is available in lot 82 adjacent to the Waisman Center. For more information, contact Pat Mitchell at (608) 263-5908 or mitchell@waisman.wisc.edu.
