Registrar finalists to visit campus

November 8, 2010

The University of Wisconsin–Madison has scheduled campus visits later this month for four finalists for the position of university registrar.

An open forum with each of the finalists will be hosted during their campus visits. All members of the campus community are invited to attend the forums and share their thoughts about the candidates by offering feedback.

The open forums will provide each finalist an opportunity to share information about themselves and their thoughts about the role of the registrar on campus. There will also be time for questions and answers.

During each session, the candidates will introduce themselves and give an overview of their careers.  They will then share their vision for the role of the registrar’s office at a large, decentralized university during the next five years, and how their experience, leadership style, and personal philosophy will help the Office of the Registrar excel in that role.  The session will also include an opportunity to ask the candidates questions and to hear their responses.

The forums are scheduled as follows:

  • Tammy L. Aagard, university registrar and interim director of student financial aid, University of Wyoming, on Monday, Nov. 15, 9-9:45 a.m., 1195 Grainger Hall;
  • Larry Lockwood, assistant provost and university registrar, University of Iowa, on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 10-10:45 a.m., 1195 Grainger Hall;
  • Heather A. Chermak, associate registrar, University of Idaho, on Thursday, Nov. 18, 1-1:45 p.m., Wisconsin Idea Room, Education Building, and;
  • Scott T. Owczarek, associate registrar, Michigan State University, on Monday, Nov. 22, 11-11:45 a.m., 2280 Grainger Hall.
