Construction season finally ending

November 3, 2010

The 2010 construction season on campus is finally drawing to a close after more than five months of traffic detours and delays. The work on several major utility projects began in mid-May following spring commencement weekend.

Here is the latest news regarding the projects:

  • North Park Street from Observatory Drive to University Avenue was reopened to two-way traffic over the weekend.
  • Observatory Drive has also been reopened to two-way traffic, and the 80 and 85 campus buses have resumed their regular routes.
  • Langdon Street between Lake and Park streets will remain one-way westbound for most of this month.
  • Charter Street and Observatory Drive: Utility work will begin around this intersection in the spring of 2011 and will result in some road closures. The details of that project will not be available until a later date.
