APR campus forum highlights process improvements in research and grants administration

October 6, 2010

Several process redesign teams working to improve the university’s research and grant administration process will be present at the next Administrative Process Redesign (APR) campus forum to talk about their solutions. APR is in its fourth year and now offers support for process improvement both across campus units and within divisions.

The forum will be held from 2–4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13, in the Lowell Hall Dining Room at 610 Langdon St.

Four APR teams focusing on making improvements in the research area will demonstrate how their solutions will increase researchers’ access to their financial data, reduce the number of cost transfers and increase the speed of those which remain, and close a greater percentage of awards on time.

Several other redesign teams will also be present to talk about their projects including units working on internal process improvement within the vice chancellor for administration area.

All university staff are invited to the forum and may attend without loss of pay. Staff should make arrangements with their supervisors before attending. No registration is required. The forum will also be video streamed and viewable online.
