Re: TIP/Meteorological expertise for snowstorm

The storm bearing down on Wisconsin may be of historic proportions, say UW–Madison weather experts.

Reporters needing assistance covering the storm, which is expected to border on blizzard conditions, can contact Jonathan Martin, chair of the UW–Madison atmospheric and oceanic sciences department or Steve Ackerman, a UW–Madison professor of atmospheric and oceanic sciences. Both are available to interested media and can speak to the storm’s meteorological and historical context.

Also, atmospheric and oceanic sciences graduate student Jordan Gearth, a collaborator with researchers at the National Weather Service, has been monitoring the storm and is also available.
