Admission update: Extended waiting list

June 18, 2007

The University of Wisconsin–Madison will not be admitting freshman students from the extended waiting list for the fall 2007 term. More than 6,000 admitted applicants accepted our offer of admission on/by the May 1 enrollment deposit deadline. These 6,000 enrolling students exceed the freshman class target of 5,600, and as such, the university will not have capacity to admit additional students from the extended waiting list.

As noted in the admission decision letter, wait-listed students were only to be notified if space became available. Because space is not available, we will not be individually notifying students who were not admitted from the waiting list.

All students on the extended waiting list should accept admission to another institution and/or make alternative plans.

Please visit our Web site for more information on admission decisions and the extended waiting list.
