The fund-raising event supports UW Athletics, underwriting scholarships for men and women student-athletes in all sports.

Thousands of runners and walkers participated in the 25th annual Crazylegs Classic 8k run/wheelchair and two-mile walk on April 29.

More than 13,300 people participated in the event under cloudy, damp conditions. Luckily, the rain held off until after the race was over and fans and participants had made their way home from the post-race celebrations in Camp Randall Stadium, which also was the location of the finish line.

Two former Badger athletes took the top spots. Bethany Brewster, a former track team middle-distance runner, won the women’s title with a time of 28:27. Tim Keller, a former cross-country team member, won the men’s title with a time of 24:14.
