Protest against racism peaceful
An estimated 300 to 400 University of Wisconsin–Madison campus and community members gathered on Bascom Hill shortly before noon today, Thursday, April 21, to protest incidents of racism over the past few months.
The group read a list of demands to university administration and shortly after noon, marched down Bascom Hill to College Library in Helen C. White Hall.
The group marched throughout campus, closing some roadways and intersections for a short amount of time. The UW-Madison Police Department helped shut down traffic to ensure the safety of the participants.
The event was peaceful and no arrests were made.
