Glaeser, a retired artist and UW-Extension professor emeritus, carefully places
pieces of red volcanic rock in a 20-cubic-foot paludarium that he is creating
and donating for permanent display in the foyer of the Institute for Cross-College
Biology Education. When completed, the rainforest-like paludarium, a hybrid
aquarium-terrarium, will include tropical and aquatic plants, live fish and
a running waterfall.
