Three deans up for 5-year reviews

October 13, 2015

Every five years of their tenure, deans of the university’s schools and colleges undergo a university review to assess their academic and administrative leadership and performance in such areas as external relations and resource management.

The review includes interviews with faculty, staff and students, and with external stakeholders. The provost appoints the members of the review committee.

This fall, reviews are underway for Wisconsin School of Business Dean François Ortalo-Magné, Division of Continuing Studies Dean Jeffrey Russell, and Law School Dean Margaret Raymond.

The reviews are being led by the following chairs:

  • Continuing Studies — Irwin Goldman (horticulture; former interim dean, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences)
  • Law — Robin Douthitt  (consumer science; emeritus dean, School of Human Ecology)
  • Business — Philip Certain (chemistry; emeritus dean, College of Letters & Science)

The reviews are expected to finish by the end of the semester.

Questions about the review process can be directed to Carole Kolb at carole.kolb@wisc.edu.
