Numerous entrepreneurial events planned for semester

Web conferences, seminars, innovation days and other events are among the opportunities this semester for people interested in learning more about entrepreneurship.

The Office of Corporate Relations, Madison Magnet and Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek will host a Web conference series on creating and funding university startups. Each session will be followed by a discussion led by a local entrepreneur or investor.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend. Sessions will be held either at the Pyle Center or at Whyte Hirschboeck and Dudek, 33 E. Main St., Suite 300.

Sessions are free, but an RSVP is required. Contact Pam Munoz at 263-2840 or Munoz@ocr.wisc.edu to attend. Attendance is limited to the first 50 RSVPs.

  • Technology Business Development Institute business seminars, to be held throughout the semester. The seminars are designed for people in science, engineering or information technology who want to commercialize a product by starting or growing a company.   • 100-hour Wiscontrepreneur Challenge, 6 p.m., Thursday, April 17-10 p.m. Monday, April 21. Participating individual students or teams claim a $10 voucher redeemable for purchase of an object available at the Surplus With A Purpose (SWAP) shop.   • G. Steven Burrill Business Plan Competition, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday, April 18, on the main floor of Grainger Hall. Student teams develop and present technology-based business plans and compete for a $10,000 grand prize. Learn more at http://www.bus.wisc.edu/burrill.
