Annual Wellness Expo raises awareness and funds for charity

April 1, 2013

The Wisconsin Wellness Expo, an annual event celebrating healthy lifestyle choices, is scheduled for Saturday, April 6, at UW–Madison’s Southeast Recreational Facility, commonly known as the SERF.

The expo, open to the public, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free parking is available during the event in lot 91 next to the Kohl Center.

The expo hosts organizations and vendors from the Madison area that offer wellness-related products and services. The event will offer free healthy food samples and other giveaways.

Among the activities planned for the expo is a three-hour Zumba marathon to raise money for PAWWS to Heal, a local organization dedicated to restoring the lives of victims of child abuse. See http://www.pawwstoheal.org.

There will also be a Fitness Challenge with prizes for the top contestants.

The expo is sponsored by Visitor & Information Programs and the Division of Recreational Sports.
