Media Advisory: Panasonic executive Julie Bauer to address e-business conference

Julie Bauer, a University of Wisconsin–Madison alumna and president of Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company, will be among the more than 600 business executives and technology leaders at the 16th annual Business Best Practices and Emerging Technologies Conference, Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, hosted by the University of Wisconsin–Madison E-Business Consortium (UWEBC).

Bauer, a Durand, Wisconsin, native, is returning to Wisconsin to receive the Distinguished Fellow Award of the UW–Madison E-Business Institute (UWEBI), the research-oriented counterpart to the industry-focused consortium. Each year, the UWEBI presents its Distinguished Fellow award to a visionary who has led significant achievement and advancement in e-business.

Prior to joining Panasonic, Bauer held senior executive positions in direct marketing, online strategy, e-commerce and multichannel transformation with Guthy-Renker, Mattel/American Girl, and Best Buy.

In addition to Bauer, the conference features more than 25 industry experts and executives from organizations such as BMO Financial Group, Forrester Research, GE Healthcare, Kohler, MIT’s Center for Digital Business, Office Depot and Rockwell Automation.

The UWEBC’s annual conference enables participants to learn and discuss innovative business strategies and emerging technological trends in marketing, information technology and supply chain management.
