Seminar aims to boost students’ civic engagement
A seminar aimed at strengthening civic engagement by students will be held Friday, Jan. 31 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Gordon Dining and Events Center.
The event, which will be held on the second floor of the center, is part of the University Health Services Civic Engagement Initiative to support students in developing the attitudes and aptitudes needed for engaged citizenship.
A cross-campus, interdisciplinary team of administrators, faculty, staff and students is hosting the half-day seminar. Participants will explore curricular and co-curricular opportunities, civic engagement outcome measures and associated values.
Registration, which costs $15 and includes a light breakfast and lunch buffet, is open for the session through Jan. 24 at https://www.ohrd.wisc.edu/OHRDCatalogPortal/Default.aspx?CK=44925.
The seminar is co-sponsored sponsored by UHS, the Association of American Colleges and Universities Bringing Theory to Practice Project, the School of Human Ecology, and the Morgridge Center for Public Service.
